Truth, imho, is almost always hard, but it is usually also good. The person most of us have the biggest problem being honest with and about is ourselves, I think. Even AA teaches people that the first step in recovery is *admitting* fault. Admitting we have a problem. Admitting we’ve been wrong. Admitting we are confused and lost and even without hope. Admitting we are, indeed, full of selfish, evil, unholy desires and have a tendency to constantly think of doing those things even when we (rarely) succeed in not carrying them out.

Here is the passage that speaks of tattoos (at the bottom you’ll find the entire chapter of Leviticus 19) – Leviticus 19:28 specifically, but, when studying any biblical text we must look at the context in order to know the true and intended meaning of the writer and, ultimately, God Himself. As you’ll see there are various cultural laws mixed in with the moral laws here that we do not nor can not even practice today.
