Atheism is Absurd

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. ~Genesis 1:1 God exists. A worldview with God at the center is much easier to believe in than it’s counter – a worldview with self at the center. A specifically Christian worldview is centered on Christ, focused on others and is obtained by grace alone. An atheistic worldview, following a logical working out of it’s beliefs (or lack thereof), detracts from a righteous and balanced life and respect for others. Atheism is an irrational excuse for those who refuse to submit to the authority and obvious existence of a creator. (more…)

Who is a Dog?

 “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.~Matthew 7:6 

This verse begs the question, “Who, then, are the dogs? Who are the swine?”  Didn’t Jesus preach to the tax collectors and prostitutes?  Who, then, could be a dog, if not they?  The five preceeding verses instruct me not to ‘judge’, but clearly, I must make judgements about people if I am going to know who these people are. I’ve had a couple conversations recently on the subject of whether or not we should care what other people think.  Right off the bat, in my Loriness and pride, I would say, ‘No way! It doesn’t matter what others think.  If you are working for the Lord, you work at it with all your heart and don’t stop for anything or anyone!’  But, considering the context of these two conversations, I realize the need for a disclaimer on that statement.
